On the weekend of the 22nd of September 2007 students from six of the group of eight universities convened in Adelaide to found the first peak national representative body for all undergraduate commerce, economics and finance (“CEF”) students studying in the Australasian region.
With this in mind the Australasian Commerce & Economics Students’ Association (“ACESA”) was founded with the following aims:
- Representation
- Provide a voice for CEF students, so that their interests and concerns are heard by all levels of government and industry as well as other relevant stakeholders in the CEF and business education arena.
- Communication
- Facilitate the sharing of information and ideas between the member societies about their operations.
- Sponsorship
- To gain benefits for member societies and members through sponsorship.
- Conference
- Hold an annual conference to bring together CEF students from around Australia to provide them with networking, social and career opportunities.
So who's part of ACESA?
ACESA consists of the CEF societies and association from six of the group of eight universities, there is a view to expanding this membership base in the future. Any undergraduate student who is a member of a local CEF society that is a member society of ACESA is also a member of ACESA. The current membership structure is as follows:
